I have been doing my own testing of Metal supported GPU. On top of the list of AMD Radeon products, I've found some older PCIe NVIDIA cards fully compatible as well including:

PNY Quadro 4000 2GB DDR5 DVI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card for Mac From the Manufacturer. Mac OS X 10.6.7 Driver Update Apple's Mac OS X 10.6.7 system update overwrites any existing Quadro 4000 for Mac or Quadro FX 4800 for Mac graphics driver, resulting in a loss of graphics acceleration functionality, and also disables CUDA (if installed). The Quadro K5000 for Mac is considerably faster here. Higher single-precision performance number means the graphics unit will perform better in general computing applications. Since CUDA cores or stream processors are also used as vertex and geometry shaders for 3D image generation, higher performance is also beneficial to games. The Quadro 4000 by PNY taps into the new Fermi technology, which is basically CUDA on steroids. For under $900 the Quadro 4000 delivers performance that blows away the almost twice as expensive QuadroFX4800 cards. The Quadro 4000 for MAC by PNY is the must have upgrade for Mac.

I will be updating this list if I find more NVIDIA compatible cards. I suspect that a NVIDIA Quadro M4000, Quadro K5200, Quadro P4000, Quadro P5000, NVIDIA Titan X, NVIDIA GTX 780, GeForce 8800GT, and NVIDIA Titan Xp would also be fully Metal compatible, but I've not verified that in macOS High Sierra or macOS Mojave.
